Very clean chip shop! I prefer the chips here compared to others, they seem to be more cooked. That's just a personal preference. £3.50 for a potion at the time of writing. There is no banter (no pun intended) , just take your food and go. I like this place as I'm very fussy about hygiene and this place is spotless. Kennedy chip shop is up the road, if you like your chips less cooked and and a bit of , "what can I do you for governor?". Very friendly staff there.

I've been coming here for years. My favourite fish 'n' chips joint by FAR! The fish is always SUPERB and they don't mind cooking it from fresh if you're willing to wait. The chips are great and never stale. Lunchtime specials (during the week) too. Run by a lovely family who have always been friendly and accommodating. Mushy peas, curry sauce. What's not to like?! On top of the GREAT food, the place is always spotlessly clean. Mariner gets my vote!

Genuinely can't fault this place at all. Chips were lovely, sausage and battered also really good, but the real star of the show was the cod. Crispy flaky batter with wonderfully light, flaky and large pieces of cod underneath. I got a piece of chicken as well but am yet to try that as the meal has defeated me and my girlfriend, but that also looks good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely make the journey here from now on rather than going next door!
